Join a conversation with Ohio Department of Natural Resources director, Mary Mertz, as she shares recent research insights from psychologists, ecologists, and the medical community on how nature positively affects our physical and mental health and well-being.

Virtual Transfer Preview Day – Tuesday, Aug. 3, Tuesday, Nov. 2
Attending the Virtual Transfer Preview Day provides an opportunity to get an inside look at UF. Participants can talk to the transfer admissions team and have questions answered about the transfer application process, financial aid, and scholarships.
All interested/available UF faculty and staff are invited to a time of fellowship and prayer tomorrow (Wednesday, August 11), from noon – 1:00 pm in the TLB Christian Fellowship Room (CBSL 136), to help kick-off the new academic year.
Free lunch provided (via coupons for The Refinery) for those interested. We hope to see you there!

Information meeting introduce the club what we are and what we do.
The Accounting Club focuses on helping members learn more about their career path post-graduation. We bring in many guest speakers throughout the year to discuss future opportunities that are in the business world. The club also helps develop skills in the business realm, specifically regarding accounting concepts. The first meeting for the Accounting Club is next Tuesday, 8/24, at 7 p.m. in CBSL 249.
The Investments Club focuses on helping members become more educated in financial investments in a variety of ways. We are currently in a few projects that will educate our members about investments even further. We currently manage a portfolio with real money and assets investing in different investments such as equities, or stocks, as most people call them. The first meeting for the Investments Club is next Wednesday, 8/25, at 6:30 p.m. in CBSL 249.

Come and spend an unforgettable and enjoyable evening with animal photographer and illustrator Jim Arnosky. Jim is self-taught in writing, art and the natural sciences. He has written and illustrated 132 books on nature subjects and has illustrated 46 other books written by various authors. He has over 132 books published. He has been awarded the Christopher Medal, Orbis Pictus Honor, ALA Gordon Award, and Outstanding Science book awards from National Science Teachers Associations. Jim was honored with the Franklin Fairbank Award for being Vermont’s foremost creative guide to nature lore. There will be a meet-and-greet afterwards for his book purchase and signing.
This is the first seminar of the 2021-2022 College of Sciences Faculty Chair theme: Animal Science: A STEAM Approach. Throughout the year, programming will aim to connect the Animal Sciences to the other disciplines comprising STEAM education (an extension of the previous STEM education model). Brian D. Whitaker is the current College of Sciences Faculty Chair. This presentation is made possible through collaborative efforts with Ben Sapp and the Mazza Museum.
